OPENING THE IMAGE CATALOGS
There are 2 image catalogs on this CD. The IMAGES CATALOG is a catalog of all the PICT images, and HIGH_RES CATALOG is a catalog of all the JPEG images on this CD.
VIEWING THE IMAGE CATALOGS
After opening a catalog, you will see dotted buttons at left below the Kudo Menu bar. These are the Gallery View and List View buttons which control the way thumbnails are displayed on the screen. You can browse through the catalogs by pressing on the up and down arrows on the right side of the catalog. See the Riffle section below for a rapid browsing tool. The images are displayed in default order, but can be resorted using options under the Sort menu. You can switch between viewing modes by clicking on the buttons or by using the "View" menu.
THE RIFFLE FEATURE
The Riffle tool is the arrow located in the bottom right corner of the catalog. This feature allows you to rapidly scan through the catalog and view individual thumbnails at up to 10 images per second. To use the Riffle control, click on the thin black line inside the blue arrow and move it to the right or the left depending on whether you want to scan forward or reverse from your current location in the catalog. You can adjust the speed of the scan by moving the black line between the center and either the left or right edges of the arrow control. When you see an image you like, simply release the mouse.
VIEWING THE IMAGES
You can either preview the image, or open the actual image file. To preview an image, click on its thumbnail to select the image, pull down the "Image" menu, and select Preview. The preview window can be resized to display the entire image. This is a quick way to see a full-screen image, but does not allow you to do any manipulation. To open an image file, double click on its thumbnail. Double-clicking the thumbnail will open the image file.
KEYWORD SEARCHING
Use the Find Button, or the Find option in the "Image" menu, to search the catalog for thumbnails with specific characteristics. Kudo displays the thumbnails that were identified in the search, and hides all others from view. When you select the Find Feature, Kudo displays a dialog window. Use the far left pull-down menu to tell Kudo to search the Notes (keywords) field. Use the second box to tell Kudo how to search the catalog ("contains" is the default and the one used most often). In the third box, enter the keywords. To view all thumbnails after a search, select Find All from the "Image" menu. Note: All words must be capitalized as they appear in the notes box. This box can be viewed by pressing the Info Button or looking at the image from the List View mode.
